Who We Are
Hiriketiya Taxis began with a simple idea: that visitors to Sri Lanka's south coast deserve transport they can genuinely rely on — run by people who know and love this stretch of coastline. We are a small, locally owned team based right here in Hiriketiya, the horseshoe bay near Dikwella that has become one of the island's most-loved surf and yoga spots.
What started with airport runs and local rides has grown into a full service of transfers, private day tours, and multi-day island itineraries — but the philosophy has never changed. Every guest is treated like a friend we want to show the very best of Sri Lanka, safely, comfortably, and without the stress that so often comes with getting around a new country.
Where We Travel
Our home is Hiriketiya and the surrounding south coast — Dikwella, Tangalle, Matara, Mirissa, Weligama, and the historic city of Galle are all part of our daily patch. From this base we cover the whole island: the long transfer to and from Colombo's Bandaranaike International Airport, dawn safaris in Yala and Udawalawe, whale cruises out of Mirissa, and the winding climb up to Ella and the tea country. Wherever you want to go in Sri Lanka, we can get you there — and back — in comfort.
Our Drivers & Vehicles
A great trip depends on a great driver, and ours are the heart of the business. They are experienced, English-speaking locals who know the roads, the shortcuts, and the stories behind the places you'll pass. They're patient with questions, happy to stop for a photo or a king coconut, and genuinely proud to show off their home. For multi-day trips, the same driver stays with you throughout, so you travel with someone who already knows your plans and your pace.
Our vehicles are clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, kept in top condition and chosen to fit your group and luggage — from a nimble car for two to a spacious van for a family with surfboards. Child seats and extra luggage space are available on request; just tell us what you need when you book and we'll make sure the right vehicle turns up.
